Hip Hop ChicZ Exclusive - Invincible

One of only two females named on the Paid Dues 2011 bill, Detroit-based Invincible rocked the Grind Time Now stage (or affectionately known as the Hamster Cage by HHcZ) with her usual philosophical candor. Let me start by saying Invincible is an extremely talented emcee and will open your mind to new paradigms. She is influential to both the Hip Hop and Detroit communities, and as down to earth as any person I’ve met. Her passion for not only social revolution, but also social evolution, is genuine and grounded in understanding, innovation and change. Her newest project with Waajeed is exploring the connection between science and social movement. Invincible does not just make music; her music is based in intellectual thought, social consciousness and growth.

Named by Real Detroit Weekly as the Best Female Hip Hop Artist of the Year, Invincible easily showcases this through her projects such as her documentary, The Revival: SXSW, which is a behind-the -scenes look at the first Women in Hip Hop showcase at SXSW last year. This project will continue to expand as she gets ready to start the Born in Flames tour with one of HHcZ’s faves, Jean Grae, and also punk artist Tamar-kali.
